Guest Presentation:  Recognizing Warning Signs of Substance Abuse in Your Teen's Bedroom

Lexington Public Schools Prevention Specialists, Julie Fenn and Kristie Demirev will join us at our Jan 10 PTO meeting to teach parents of middle schoolers how to recognize the warning signs of substance abuse in your own home.  Julie will set up a “Hidden in Plain Sight Exhibit” that displays a mock teenager’s bedroom to test parents knowledge of common substance abuse items teens can purchase online.  She will also present strategies for discussing substance abuse with children and share what we know about drug & alcohol abuse in Lexington.  This will be an interactive session.
